We did it, but now our kids are off playing organized ball.

Pick a park, pitch in for some spongy balls and play ball!

New Season?

A lot of us are wrapped up in Peanut League and Farm League Baseball, however, if any parents of younger players would like to get the ball rolling sometime please chime in!

Monday, April 10, 2006

Hope those who are eligible are all signed up (and possibly already playing) for your respective Little League team. I know a few of the Farm Leagues are a bit shy of players so if you have not gotten signed up yet contact Greg Koerner @ 217-359-8983.

Tornados tends to start up around the time organized ball wanes (after the 4th of July), but if you are interested in getting a jersey and getting on our mailing list please contact us at:

New Tornado Location - Westview Elementary

Risa Tewksbury reports -

We felt that Westview worked great this week and had plenty of room for all three games, so we are returning for future outings. Please pass the word on to anyone that does not read the emails, or didn't hear the announcement at the last outings.
On Tuesday, August 2nd Tornados will meet at Westview Elementary School field at William and Russell.

Again the split will be preschoolers playing whiffle ball on a reduced field, K and 1st playing on a field, and the "big" kids playing on the real field.

The kids going into 2nd grade on up are playing 3 outs, and get pretty serious so if you have someone in that age group that would rather play down with the K-1's or help with the little kids, that is fine.

Likewise if you have someone that really wants to play up and you don't think they are at risk of getting hurt (read Joe Bagger) they can play on the "real" field.

Tuesday's Game at Westview!

Our game on Tuesday, July 26 will be moved to the
ballfields at Westview Elementary School located
south of John Street and east of Russell in Champaign.

We will start at 6 p.m.

Our goal is to have one game for the "more competitive"
players on the main diamond with a wiffleball game for the
smaller kids. We would like to set up a third game will be for
the "tweeners" (kids who have not yet played in the peanut
league, but are a little bigger'n the toddlers).

Next week we move back to Hessel.

New photos coming soon!
